Logo image credit: Dan Mouer Project Staff Barbara Heath: is associate professor in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville specializing in historical archaeology. She has 30 years of experience working in Virginia, the Caribbean, and Tennessee. Since 2001, Barbara has collaborated with archaeologists at Monticello in the creation of the Digital Archaeological Archive of Comparative Slavery (DAACS), was a collaborator in the Mellon-funded DAACS Digital Research Consortium in 2014-2015, and the NEH-funded Colonial Encounters project with Dr. Julie King of St. Mary’s College (colonialencounters.org). Barbara holds a BA from the College of William and Mary and an MA and Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania. Mark Freeman: specializes in information technology and data sharing relating to archaeological collections. Mark has been the principal investigator for a multi-year effort to create digital access for collections owned by the National Park Service, and has served as a consultant for archaeologists and museum professionals in the Middle Atlantic, including Jamestown Rediscovery, Monticello, Mount Vernon, Poplar Forest, and the VDHR. He holds a BA from Lancaster University in the UK and an MA in Information Sciences at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in summer 2015. Eric Schweickart: is a PhD student specializing in historical archaeology at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He has worked at Colonial Williamsburg, Montpelier, and Coan Hall.
